Delgany Diaries - The After Edit

The After Edit - Delgany Diaries

We are excited to finally reveal the stunning transformation of our Delgany project in Co. Wicklow with you!

Picture Perfect

While this project had it’s challenges, it was one of the most rewarding and exciting renovation journeys.  Please take a look at some of the before photographs in our first Delgany Diaries - The Brief Edit to truly appreciate this exceptional transformation.

As a building and renovation company, we normally handover the home before the fit-out and we rarely get the opportunity to photograph a picture-perfect home.

This project was different. Our lovely client asked us if we could take care of every last detail of the fit-out in terms of sourcing, furniture, art, rugs and home décor etc.  While this is not a space we normally get involved with, we knew that our client needed our help to bring the final vision to life.

They say, a picture speaks a thousand words springs to mind with this dreamy image of the main living room.

Opulent Interiors

With the main living room reimagined to create a balanced and elegant space. We blocked off a door to the dining room to improve proportions and kept the existing fireplace. A bespoke TV unit in Colourtrend’s “Standing Tall” shade became a focal point, complemented by contemporary wall panelling, warm oak latte herringbone flooring, and luxurious wave curtains in neutral linen.

Homely Haven

The dining room was completely reworked to become a cosy, inviting TV room. We closed off the door to the utility kitchen and retained the fireplace, but painted the mantle for a fresh look. Again, we introduced a stunning low-level beskoke TV unit painted in Colour trend “Wolfhound” added warmth to the space. We opted for slightly less formal soft furnishings and accessories, we were happy that we created a homely and comfortable haven to be enjoyed by the entire family.

Statement Entry Hall

The generous entry hall became a striking focal point. We connected the space with oak latte herringbone flooring and modern wall panelling. A mix of amber and clear glass pendant lights adds character, while a carefully chosen console and abstract art from local abstract artist Sorcha Clooney completed the look. The proportion and balance were key when it came to the selection of furniture and home decor accessories for this space.

With the generous landing, along with introducing some subtle storage, we also maximised this space and introduced a calm reading nook. We re-uppolstered one of our clients existing chairs and footstool in a rich rust velvet. The oversized abstract art infused this landing with personality and colour.

 Luxurious Bedroom

The master bedroom and ensuite were reworked into a bright, spacious sanctuary. With natural light flooding the room, the new bed positioning offers a perfect view to start the day.

PERFECT WALK-IN-WARDROBE

The walk-in wardrobe is a dream space with ample storage and natural light from two windows. Every detail was planned for function and beauty.

SPA LIKE RETREAT

The main family bathroom is a calming retreat, far from its original design. We used neutral porcelain tiles throughout for a cohesive feel, with carefully chosen vanity units to add a touch of color.

Cohesive Colour Scheme

Every bedroom was reimagined with a sleek new wardrobe design. Darker walnut flooring complements the internal wardrobes, with walls painted in Colourtrend “Subtle”, wardrobes in “Silver Moonlight” and woodwork in “Alabaster White.”

Finally, here is what our lovely customer had to say about their stunning home renovation:

Placelift recently completed phase 1 of a full house renovation for us. Clodagh, Ivan, Rob and all their contractors have been an absolute pleasure to deal with. Everything in the first phase of the job went perfectly to plan. Clodagh’s attention to detail and her persistence for decisions to be made in a timely manner made sure the project stayed on track both in terms of budget and timescales. The scope of the job meant Clodagh and the team had to go above and beyond a regular ‘renovation’. Clodagh steered us through every decision in terms of the options we had and also offering her excellent advice when making these decisions. She ensured everything happened on time and within our agreed budgets. The Placelift team handled everything from suppliers for finishes, contractors for additional work etc to ultimately deliver the complete renovation. As with any project things were constantly moving and any additional changes we thought of were discussed and never an issue. From a practical perspective they were also very ‘clean’ workers and demanded the same standards from anyone who worked on the project. We will shortly be embarking of Phase 2 with Placelift and I could not be happier to be working with them again. Effective communication on any project is key and Clodagh’s regular professional updates and site visits were excellent. We are delighted with the work completed so far!
